a different approach to IBS

I am Helen Brooks, founder of The Tummy Whisperer, an award-winning Clinical Hypnotherapist and IBS Transformation Coach.

I specialise in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome through an evidence-based approach combining gut-directed hypnotherapy, positive psychology and wellness coaching, and have spent the last 20 years helping people transform their health and wellbeing.

But why specialise in IBS? Why The Tummy Whisperer?

My first IBS client was more than 15 years ago. As I looked into the methods and techniques to help her I came across the work of Professor Whorwell, the pioneer of Gut Directed Hypnotherapy (GDH). I was blown away by the statistics and success rates of hypnotherapy for IBS and the results it achieved for my client.

But despite the large body of clinical research around gut-directed hypnotherapy and the number of people struggling with IBS, it seemed no one really knew about it.

And here we are over a decade later and although awareness of this approach is slowly growing there is a huge problem with accessing gut-directed hypnotherapy with a qualified specialist.

That is not ok!

Raising awareness of this work is so important to me

I  founded The Tummy Whisperer to create the solution.
To provide a high standard of effective care and support accessible anywhere in the world through my online program The Gut Brain Connection Method and my virtual clinic.

I know first hand the difference having the right knowledge, tools and support can make.

When I was younger I struggled with terrible anxiety and bouts of depression. I felt utterly alone and lost with no support or care. When I finally got the help I needed.

It totally transformed my life.

The transformation I experienced, and a desire to understand the what, why, and how of it lead me to study Psychology.

I didn’t know it at the time but I had found my calling…

Age 21 I left my hometown of Lichfield, Staffordshire for Brighton and the University of Sussex. I studied for a degree in applied psychology, graduated, and then embarked upon the most incredible adventure.

I travelled the world for three years, exploring consciousness, culture, and healing from South East Asia to Central America and everywhere in between.

Intrigued by the power of the subconscious mind I discovered hypnotherapy - I had found my thing

20 years on and with thousands of hours of clinical practice under my belt, I have helped many hundreds of people transform their lives.

I want you to know - the answer you have been looking for is not on your plate.

It’s within you, in the power of your own incredible mind.

No, IBS is not ‘all in the mind’ - it is absolutely in the body. But - you can correct the miscommunication between the brain and gut, by training your mind to change physiological functions that are subconsciously controlled.

You can restore the faulty communication in the gut-brain connection and find long-term relief.

It’s not weird or wacky or woo, it’s backed by science.

I have helped so many people who felt they had tried it ALL.  People who just didn’t think it was possible for them to find relief, transform their IBS and get life back on track.

I would love to do that for you too.

“She is worth every penny.”

“I decided to work with Helen because she was recommended by Dr Megan Rossi. The support I received from Helen has been 10/10. She clearly knows how to access your unconscious mind and would recommend working with her to anyone that has a brain-gut issue.”

With Helen’s help I can finally get on top of an issue which has affected me since I was a young child. I feel more confident and relaxed in situations that I would have avoided before, I recommend Helen to anyone suffering from IBS.”
